shame of thrones

Means notwithstanding, I’d do it...

                                  Poor.

                         Means notwithstanding,
                        I’d do it:
                       The kindest thing—
                      I’d kneel to do it ‘fore I’d do anything…

           Thrones are just king-chairs,
          Not for me:
         I am the floor—
        And a stair’s a step ‘fore it’s anything…
