vesuvius

We were vapor-us, and afraid of love...

  Tinny-thin
      Venetian slim-jims
    Of shine pervade
            My spiny spaces;

                We were vapor—us,
                          And afraid of love.

                                —

                        New faces
                  On that vintage lens;
          By view-drawn blind,
              My heart outpaces

          Our Vesuvius,
    Too-soon left behind.
