We both build and burn...

In life and by turn,
      We both build and burn;
          Bridge-boards, often,
            Need be twice-laid.

            Time’s hand is swift, stern;
          We drop what we learn:
      Strangers, like friends,
Are mostly made.

    • Yes! Thank you, and I love it also! It was a dog-ear scratch once upon a time, a quick slip in the margin of something I was really working on. Long ago. In the mist. Lol. Shuffling through old stuff I had the good sense to keep, I reclaimed it from the past, in part because it met me. And challenged me. For one of my short-scribbles, it’s one of my personally meaningful favorites. Thank you, Larisa, for enjoying it as I do! And the smile!
